Story
My name is Nakia, but I also go by Cherry. I am an artist who was born and raised in Jackson, MS and I now operate from Durham, NC. I focus on illustration, character design, and comics. I am a Jackson State University alumni, class of 2022, and I graduated with a Bachelor of Art in Graphic Design with Cum Laude honors. My work is inspired by various forms of visual media, ranging from anime, cartoons, video games, comics, and animated films. I love all things bright and colorful but I also love darker horror-based art.
The most important thing to me when it comes to art is visual storytelling. Outside of visual arts, I am a writer that dabbles in fiction and poetry. I also sing from time to time but drawing is my truest passion.
